John Deere low vis hydraulic fluid

I think in the older JD 300s they used Type F ATF.

*Edit* Just checked my service manual. "Use John Deere All Weather Hydraulic Fluid, John Deere Hy-Gard Transmission and Hydraulic Oil, or an equivalent Type F Automotive Automatic Transmission Fluid."

i used type F with great results

I use F trans fluid.

when i changed my fluid it had red trans fliud looking stuff in it, went to dealer and they recomended the hy gaurd, so i changed to that. Ran fine before and after the fluid change, still whines, still leaks:fing32:

Interesting;;; I have changed from type F to The John Deere Low viscosity And vise-versa. It seems ether are acceptable;; Just do not mix them togather as strange things will happen..
