Thanks to those who responded to my last thread. I'm just about ready to jump on the leftover 2008 2042 LS. But I was curious.....the model I'm looking at has the fuel tank located under the hood. The 2009 model has it located under the seat. Should I be concerned about the tank being so close to the engine?

I had a 94 Yardman with the tank under the hood, not a big concern, you just have to be careful in fueling. I always played it safe and used a funnel .

I had a 1990 Scotts (Noma) that had the gas tank under the hood and never had any problems. Alot of the older tractors had them there as well.

No problem, just means it most likely doesn't have a fuel pump, which is one less thing to break!
