Hello everyone,

My name is Steven and I am from Texas. It has been a very long unending project with my '73 2030 John Deere. The tractor was my grandparents that I spent most of my childhood days riding. I am now 47 years old. Summers consisted of using it to mow pastures and work in the hay fields. My grandparents passed years ago and the 2030 finally ended up setting in the field. I decided one day about 10 years ago to cut the trees that were growing around it to see if I could bring it back to life. To my amazement, a new battery, some deisel, and a little starting fluid and it cranked right up. I will try and get some pics posted later on. Thanks, Steven

Welcome to MTF! I always enjoy reading about tractors that have been in the family, and have been brought back to life by folks like yourself, who appreciate them for the memories they embody.

I know that Deere folks would like reading your story, and seeing your pics. I would start a thread in the Deere forum, located in the "Big Boys" (full size) tractor section. Here is the link:BIG John Deeres - MyTractorForum.com - The Friendliest Tractor Forum and Best Place for Tractor Information

Meantime, enjoy the forums!:MTF_wel:
