By now the 2012 JD tractors must be out.

What's changed if anything from last year.

I'm mostly interested in the X700 series.

Since I am now all in on a 2011 x748, I don't wanna hear that the new ones come with great bells and whistles that I did not get with mine. :sidelaugh

find it hard to believe deere could make the x748 any better. NICE MACHINE!

I guess they could lower the price :)

I agree, there's probably nothing they could do to the tractor itself to make it better, but they could throw in other options as standard equipment.

Worse case scenario: They decided in 2012 to throw in the 3ph at the same price as the 2011 models, but on the 2011 models the 3ph was still an optional accessory that had an additional cost (and why I do not have the 3ph, yet). That would cause major: :banghead3

I bet there will be no changes, only change they should make is putting the cup holder on the left side as grass gets into that hole and my drink most of the time.
Mike, the HP rating went down from 27 to 25.5 so your 1.5 hp ahead.
What is weird is there ser#'s for 2012. They have gone like this:
2006=010001-
2007=020001-
2008=030001-
2009=040001-
2010=050001-
2011=060001-
2012=???????

My dealer say's mines a 2011 and the ser# is 070106. So either my dealer is wrong and mines a 2012 or for some reason they broke there ser# tradition and built 2011's longer for some reason. Maybe new emission regs they have to do in 2012 so they built the 2011's as long as they could???:dunno:

They actually start Next years Production for the Models In early Fall so a 2012 model can actually be Made before the Year it was actually sold:thThumbsU
The only thing I can think of that would make it better (but more expensive) would be an auto connect deck like the 1026. It would be nice, but I don't think I'd be willing to pay extra for it.
The brochure I have says x500 26hp my x500 engine says 24hp I guess I am not the lucky guy!!

Ground Clearence would be the Problem Because when the deck is Not on the auto-connect Hangs Pretty Low even on the 1026R and that would even be worse on a X700 series But You can drive Over the 60inch 7Iron deck for the X700 series:thThumbsU

When I was at jd yesterday they had a x585 w/new engine and FEL and 3pt hitch for 7G

You just got an honest 24HP, not the fake 26HP.

You Have your rocker shaft in the Up Position But the auto-connects on the 1series tend to catch On things when the deck is not mounted Deere was already Looking at a slight redesign for it. It May have already Happened But during there testing faze Before introduction of the 1 series That is what I was told from some Friends at Deere But they didn’t Know if they would have it in time for Final Production and the Model had already been Introduced at the dealers show at the time so that what I was basing my opinion on :thThumbsU

Now, if they could only make the 7 Iron deck grow legs and move itself once it is taken off the tractor, THAT would be an improvement. :thThumbsU Dang that thing is HEAVY. :fing20: All those years of dealing with a lawn tractor deck has softened me up and got me all out of shape. :sidelaugh

I disagree. They really should include a tachometer as standard equipment.:thThumbsU

Bruce, It's the exact same engine/power, just a new (more realistic) industry standard of rating the HP.

Sergeant, are you saying that Xskier might have the re-designed version?
