The Cub Rep told me the had Originaly Planed to make the GTX2100 with Hydraulic lift and Diff/lock which was scrapped. Basicly the GTX2100 is a GT2500 with electric lift and Power steering. The GTX2100 has the same trans that was in the 2500 series tractors. If you want Hydrtaulic lift you have to go with a Cub Cadet Yanmar Sub Compact now. In recent years Cub has Had trouble Competing with the Deere X700 and the Simplcity Leagacy XL series. But Cub does well in the Meduim Garden tractor range ie the 2500 series was its best selller.
I was also Told that there is going to be a 3point hitch for the GTX2100 The GT2042 and GTX2000 with take the electric lift sleeve hitch and the GTX2100 with also take the electric lift sleeve hitch as well besides a 3point hitch. The electric lift system is supposed to be 10 times Better that the Old IH Electric lift system that was on the Cub Cadet 147 Narrow frame.

The prices ranges with be within the range that was mentioned in the earlier post http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=151628 :thThumbsU

what you do mean by "disc brakes"? Like the old external ones on the 1st generation 3000 series and on the IH Cubs (127, 147)??? That would be nice to have a "real" brake!!
Automotive style disc Break's is what It say's on the Pamphlet I have.:thThumbsU
I'm pretty sure "BUD-10" is supposed to be BDU-10 series. That's the same series hydrostatic unit Hydrogear has been making for years. I haven't compared, but it looks like those rear tires are the larger 3K series rears. The rear tin work definitely looks 3K series too, as does the overall length. You had to figure hydraulic auxiliaries were gonna be a thing of the past for this segment. I hope Cub does well with these and I'm sure they will given the current sales volume of 2K series. Taking care of that hood/heat issue is the major deal. That's all you really hear about in regards to issues with 2K's.

No the rear Tire are 23x9.5 same as this years 2500 series:thThumbsU
at least with "automotive" style brakes you can skid downhill instead of free wheel. :)

So, does this mean there is no equivalent to the 3000 series?

Paul
Yes. I'm pretty sure they're bringing this one back as a 3K.

I like these returns to quality I'm seeing lately.

Thanks for posting the specs up!
That sounds like one serious machine! The Craftman 30HP machine looks pretty promising as well!!
Yes. I'm pretty sure they're bringing this one back as a 3K.

Joel
that's the flux capacitor option shown, right? :)

Correct VALurker after the 2000 series if you want more capabilities you go to the Cub Cadet/Yanmar SC2400.
GT80 the Craftsman 30hp is just a Simplicity Prestige in a diffrent Color with a Snapper deck and a Supposedly Higher HP But $2000 less on sale than the Prestige.
I have a feeling you'll see a Cub Cadet GT with Hydraulic lift again. Last time Cub went with a electric lift within a few year's they went back to Hydraulic lift. The only real problem that the Old IH Cub Cadets had with electric lift was using a snow Blower tended to wear them out Pluse the older electric lift is kind of slow I use one on my 1970 Cub Cadet 106 and the actuator is about 40 years old When it goes I will replace it with a more Modern electric actuator.:thThumbsU

It still looks like they weakened the capabilities of this new series - with all models using the BDU-10. The 3000 series used the more heavier duty BDU-21. I guess next garden tractors series will use a K-46 Tuff Torq transmission (just kidding). But I do see a trend to less capability.
I just wish the left Hydraulic lift on one model thats my only complaint on the New series and My local dealers as well. Because he been selling Cub Cadet since Cub Started producing Lawn & Garden tractors. But only time will tell. The 3000 series could take a Aftermark Kiwk-way loader and Backhoe not sure about the GTX2100 yet Because if the deck is shaft drive then it could Rubn a PTO pump for a Kwik-way loader and I'm guessing it will still have a shaft driven front Snow Blower:thThumbsU

I guess it's like what was said earlier, CC hasn't been able to compete with the JDx700 series, so I guess they are trying to find their own niche offerings between the x300-x500 series...

I am interested in seeing some up close pictures, especially of the deck lift and "cast iron" tilt steering box.

What, no ABS! :)
nah, that's on the 2012 models where the govt mandates airbags on garden tractors! :)
Anyone notice that this tractor is a basic 1000 series frame with a 2000 series Cast Iron hydro transmission, 1000 series hood, and a 3000 series rear fender? This does not look like a decent replacement for either the 2000 or 3000. It looks weak, cheap and definitely a re-badge fiasco. They will make a killing off of it if they sell any since it is your basic $2000 unit from Home Depot dressed up as an 'expensive' unit. Good luck.
The John Deere 'X' series will have no problem competing against this.

1000 series frame 9Gauge the past 2500 series had a 11gauge frame These are Basicly 2500 series tractors with a few extras. I would not say they look weak. Basicly they did away with the 3000 series tractors and Kept the 2500 series the GTX2100 is basicly a 2500 series with a MID to Front Shaft driven PTO off the Front and it has electric lift which I think you may eventually see go back to Hydraulic lift at least on this model. depending how good the electric acuator is on this model.:thThumbsU

It's a 2500 channel frame, not a 1000 stamped frame.

with a 2000 series Cast Iron hydro transmission
Don't see anything wrong with this, as they've been bomb-proof for years.

1000 series hood
Looks-wise, yes. Real proof will be how they routed the exhaust and how robust the hinge system is. I am happy it's hinged in the front, but leery of how they did this.

and a 3000 series rear fender?
Again, don't see anything wrong with this.

This does not look like a decent replacement for either the 2000 or 3000.
Seriously? It is at least as capable as the 2500's, but with power steering and power deck lift as well. And considering the 3000's just didn't sell, I don't think a direct replacement for it was warranted.

What exactly looks weak and/or cheap? What part of it is a re-badge? If you think this is a standard $2K tractor with new paint, you might want to consider taking some time to actually become informed on the product before bashing it.
