I scored this cab for $200 at an auction recently. I just started to put it on this weekend. So far, I have only had to modify the front lower cab brackets. Everything else lined up well. Tonight the basic shell was bolted up, but here is still so much to do. At least it is to be 70 degrees for the next couple days here.
The DPO (dreaded previous owner) replaced the rear soft cover with plexiglass, same with the front. It's scratched some, but I can replaced it later. For now it seals very well.

When you going to add the FM radio and beer holder?

I don't think my newer cab seals perfect. I would say there maybe a tad draft at the lower part of the cab. But, if it keeps you out of the wind it should work out well.

Can you snap a pic of how the PO mounted the plexiglass to the rear side windows. I have the same cab and would like to compare them. Maybe see if i can redo mine.

I am jealous of all you guys who are finding these cabs cheap...Oh well, good find. Is the rear plexiglass one piece?

Funny thing was, the auctioneer started at $1k, no bid. $500, no bid. I held up two fingers, no other bid,-I won. I should've started at $50, I might've got it for that!

Here's some close ups of the rear / side window. The DPO used some sort of plate at the bottom, but mostly the window is glued in using copious amounts of plain old silicone. I think we'll try this out for the winter, then replace it for next year. New plastic and a little more finesse with the caulk gun.

Pics posted. Let me know if you want to see some more.
Did you have to modify the front cab-to-frame brackets for your cab to fit your X724? I had to do some cutting and bending to get around a frame tab, then drill to bolt up. Just curious

Thanks for the pics. My idea isn't much better for what I did. My cab actually came off a x585 and I actually have one of those so no I did not have to modify anything. I did have to have a mounting bracket made for it as one was missing. My new cab I just got off the auction is in way better shape than I had anticipated. So I am going to be selling my older one. Either way as long as I can stay warm this winter again I will be happy.

The potential to be sand blasted, cleaned, painted, have parts replaced and fixed....It needs a lot, but the alternative is much less comfortable.

Today I got the rest of the cab parts installed. Now rest for wiring and heater plumbing. At least the weather is holding out nicely.

Snow here in Illinois already and my brother loves the new cab I found him. Rather than a full face helmut and snowmobile suit he was out today in jeans and tennis shoes.

I couldn't figure it out. The auctioneer started at $1000...nada, then $500...crickets. I held up two fingers and that took it. I keep kicking myself for not starting at $50! The last one I saw at that consignment auction went for just over $1000.
