I can't help with the hydro part, as mine is a 6 speed. I have an lt4000 but looks quite similar to yours. Having recently completely torn down and re-done mine I have learned much in how these work. For the steering there is a bushing by the steering shaft behind the gas tank that is probably worn. Mine is worn out too and in need of replacement. I will be ordering a new one soon to change it out. Also the "ball joints" on the steering arm are probably loose and failing. They are a pressed in piece so you can't do much with them. I bought a couple heim joints (rod ends) and will be cutting the shaft down and installing those. Or you can by a new arm and replace that if they are available.
