Am checking around on these older diesels and wonder what the average life span [hours] with good maintenance these could be good for?

Alot are 1500 to 2500 hours but people say thats not alot for good diesel??

Probably 3500 to 4000 for the engine and tranny would be expected.
The engine if maintained really well is good for 7,000 hours and the transmission has a service life of 5,000 hours. I just tore down and rebuilt one of these small diesel in my 89’ 332 just for the fun of it and at 4,608 hours it had very little wear. And it wasn’t maintained all that well.
