Mine is pretty much the same model. When I got (found) it it was the same silver color as yours. Only difference was the engine decal said 12 HP OHV. There is an 11 horse Briggs flathead under the hood, so obviously someone repowered it.

Mine is a yard mule only and something for the kids to ride around the yard.

Of course I could not leave it stock:

Good luck with yours! You seem to be off to a good start!

I have the 18HP version of this style tractor and can't find a set of lenses for it, discontinued on sears. Anyone have a set they would like to box up and ship and sell to me? Only really need the "passenger" side, but I'd buy both.

mine is a 917.255914
PM me if you have any. Thanks.

Also, tractor looks great, $75 was a deal!
:Welcome1: Hope you enjoy the forums. Looks like you found yourself a nice Craftsman, it will undoubtedly serve you well.
Welcome aboard MTF, glad to have you here!

Looks like you scored one clean machine there! And it's also nice to see someone who's 15 who can turn a wrench too! Too many have lost touch with how to do that sort of thing and will spend their lives depending on others to do it. Knowledge is power!
hey im bill im 15 as well i have my sears lt 10 36:Welcome1: ( pictures won't upload today but i got the cab for it uploaded)

where did you buy the cab, i would like one for this winter..
My son is 15, I wished I could get him off the computer to even see a wrench, maybe when he is 16 and gets his first car then he will want to learn how to "maintain" something and not depend on me :thThumbsU

Nice tractor and a good bargin you got it for, looks really good for it's age.
I am 14, I have a craftsman on that same chassis, It my racing mower. 12.5hp briggs flatty with head work (11 h.p head) and a walbro racing carb. Likes its gas but goes and runs well. I have other tractors also. I am hoping to redo it this winter with a v twin, peerless 700 and a straight axle.
Thanks for the comments guys, I have grinded down the plow, and all the rust is off, i went out and bought primer at lowes and sprayed 3 coats of that, then tonight im going to do 3 coats of gloss black, then hopefully tue night i can bolt it on!!!! and i will have pictures:)
