Is the model number on the tag by the shifter still legible? That should give us a model and build year if you are after it.

The 0905 should be the date of manufacture code making it a 1985. The rest of the number is foreign to me though. It does not surprise me though as the Lawn Chief numbers are usually harder to track down. 9 times out of 10 those battery covers go missing.

Mine is being made out of a air condition cover , no planes , just used a frozen pizza box cover as a template , let me see how this one comes out .
Looking forward to your results. I know eventually I will be in a spot where I will need to fab a cover myself.

Looks great.

I wonder how close the battery terminals will be to that cover. It may be worth gluing on some sort of plastic/wood/whatever insulator strip on the inside above where the battery posts will be.
