This is the gt my neighbor had me sand ,weld , and paint in exchange for the snapper , no before pictures , I've never seen a tractor in such sad shape , so many pit and rust and split places . The paint was her choice (dollar store) as was the lay out hope to be done this week with more pictures .

Is the model number on the tag by the shifter still legible? That should give us a model and build year if you are after it.

The 0905 should be the date of manufacture code making it a 1985. The rest of the number is foreign to me though. It does not surprise me though as the Lawn Chief numbers are usually harder to track down. 9 times out of 10 those battery covers go missing.

If you are interested, I need a battery box cover as well for my 89 murray. Care to share the plans? Or maybe sell me one if you want? :p

I'm pretty sure 98Murray has a cover for sale listed over at MOW. Not sure if they are listed here too.

Looking forward to your results. I know eventually I will be in a spot where I will need to fab a cover myself.
