Hi, I finally got to ripping off the tired 35 year old 11hp briggs model 253707-0181-01. I was going to get new rings for it but every website is telling me a different type of ring to get. Whats the part number for the rings I need? Thanks!

There are likely aftermarket ring sets that will fit, which would give you multiple part numbers to choose from. If you are really concerned to get factory parts, get the B&S service manual that covers your model. Within, it may list the part number applicable, based upon the 'type', which follows the model number, followed in turn by the serial number. You should be able to determine the OEM part number, and can use that to pursue sources, and applicable substitutes from other sources if desired. IOW, the model number is generally not enough to get you the correct recommended part.
Watch a video explaining...

More than I knew.
