Currently working on getting my grandpas old tiller back running. The Carb on this tiller has two tubes going into the fuel tank. Should the fuel tank have a cup inside it for one of the tubes to sit in? or should it be a plain open fuel tank?

Can you provide a picture? I own and have worked on some old tillers. You mentioned what engine it has. I don't know if this helps...

The short tube goes in a well in the top of the tank, fuel is drawn from it as needed.
