Me and my dad have decided to remove my starter to replace it, as it just sits there and spins, won't engage, but we can't figure out how to get it out, he suggested removing the engine, but that sounds like a lot of work. We can't get at the bolts underneath the starter, is there a trick to this, or do we really have to remove the engine?

You can also remove the pedestal and condole to make it even easier.

We got it out, but we're going to take the battery tray out to put it back in.
