Just got my 3057 back. I’m not mechanical, so I didn’t do the work. It was done by Charlie’s Restorations in NC. He does excellent work, but other than rebuilding the motor, I think I can do the rest myself, so I’m going to find a project to do myself in the near future. But this machine originally had a chunk missing from the front of the deck by the discharge. I had bought a NOS deck about 10-11 years ago, and it sat, just as the mower sat. I bought it not running. So I used the new deck on the restore, and the motor is completely rebuilt. Tried finding a NOS handlebar with no luck, and with the cost of rechroming, decided to paint the handlebar. I thought it came out real nice, and looks great with the new top grip. Runs like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Very pleased. Here are some before and after pics. Tried to upload a video but no luck there. Oh well. And excuse the order of the pics.

That turned out really nice. The painted handle looks just fine on there. I know rechroming has gone through the roof, even for small projects. Bill

That looks great and better. I have some nos handles and moisture got to them somehow. They were stacked 15 ft up on shelves and still fell apart. I will do what you did in the future. T

The handle with the white top grip doesn’t look so bad. The blue one didn’t fare as well. Yeah, to rechrome a handlebar I’ve heard is up in the $600 range. Ridiculous!!

Thank you Bill. Yes, to rechrome the handlebar is very pricey.
Nice restoration. It looks great! I always like to see old machines when they've been brought back to looking and running like new again. Enjoy it!.
