So the other day I was putting my pto drive belt on my 770, When I noticed that my first drive belt goes from the engine a big pulley, then small to the tranny. These tractors have 3 spd transaxles, But are branded as 6 speed. So, My question is... Is mine in low range? Id think it would be... Heres a picture of the Ol girl on mowing duty... Well not when the picture was taken Ha, Mows great, Is fun to use and is just as good on gas as the 2009 23hp v twin! Shame i lost a Chrome rear wheel cap, As well as the brake bar. and, The hood is rough. Shame the garage it was in over the winter collapsed.. I believe thats where the brake bar was! At least it spared the tractor and the deck:fing32:. The hood wasnt on it, And it was real bent

Big at the engine and small at the trans means that it is in HI range.

I'm not sure how the 770 is set up, but if it's like the G10, you push in the clutch and move the belt from one set of pulleys to the other to change from HI to LO and back.

Of course you do that with the engine not running :D :D :D

On the 800 and 900 there are actually two drive belts and an idler pulley gets moved from one belt to the other to change ranges.

I believe the pulley that drives the rear belt, Off the front belt is what you switch it on. That owners manual section is not clear to me, Any good, Clear explanation??
