Mfg number is 990373 and still has the original 6hp b+s motor it was in storage for 30 years and am trying to resurrect it. It's been with the backyard mechanic for about 6 weeks. Says with the ignition switch was isolated but, he can't seem to get a spark. He tried 2 different coils that tested good but still no spark. Then mentioned about changing out the motor. Should a motor swap be the next step or should I get a second opinion?

Second opinion. That unit has points on it. Maybe they need to be replaced or cleaned and adjusted? It is a simple system and should be fairly easy to get it to spark.
