Having a problem with the power steering on a 1958 Massey ferguson TO35 deluxe I found under the battery a metal block on the steering column The part says ,guide in the manual, but the part number comes back as "WEAR BLOCK" I found that 3 of the screws on the outside of this BLOCK are broken off completely and the two center ones are still there. the 4th corner screw is there but loose . 1st what does the wear block do and 2nd how and what would make it break the screws off completely. the tractor still steers but is hard to steer to the right. I originaly thought it was the P/S pump but after pulling the battery for the season saw this problem . I know it will need fixed but I hoping someone knows what it is what it does and why it would have broken and if it will be a hard job to fix I'm just a novice . Thanks in advance . also I don't know much about how this forum works but I can get email at [email protected]. any help would be great. thank you.
