I have a Case 195 in nice shape. Wondering who built the drive system that's in it??? Brand, model, etc. How common, if any, were these also used in other brand lawn tractors? Durability? Life expectancy? Did search but might not have done it right as nothing came up to answer this. Thanks for any comments, Dennis

They use a hydraulic pump coupled to the engine, which in turn feeds a hydraulic drive motor on the rear end.
Make and model depends on the year and serial # of your tractor.
This set up is unique to the Case/Colt/Ingersoll tractors.

Thank you. That makes sense and begins to dovetail with my past memories. I'll bet that's why they seem so durable. A friend just "gave me," a John Deere L130. It has 961 hours on it, but runs fine. Kohler 23hp, and their, (TuffTorq K46), hydro static drive. I'm thinking that drive unit is about done.
I like my far older Case......

you can read all about the history and Evolution on CCI tractors, here: https://casecoltingersoll.com/history.php

I've got a 155 which is the 10 HP small wheel version of the 195 and that little tractor will do an amazing amount of work.
