I have an early Ford 8N - It is a 1947 based on the clutch linkage, the number behind the starter is 157 and on the side of the tranny is 8n7006. The reason I am giving all this information to include the guess SR# 8N 1584 is the Carb is leaking and needs rebuilding. It is still attached to the tractor, but I can find no marking on the Carb. I am looking for a rebuilding kit and they all mention brands. This one is unknown to me. I am new to this and need any help anyone can give.

Check the stickies section. It has the serial number breakdown that will allow you to determine what model it is. I thought they didn't start the 8Ns until 48 which could mean you have a 2 or 9 n. Most of the factory carbs were marvel

So is this really a 1948 tractor which was built in 1947 based on the last comment? Also, any suggestions on where to buy the Carb Kit. I would like to buy US made, I see a lot of China kits?

Thank you everyone.

Yes it is a '48..old Henry used the years for number codes 9n=1939 2N=1942 and 8N=1948..

There where also some 9n's that where produced near the end of 1942..(see below)

Thank you everyone. Bought the Napa Kit. Rebuilt it and put it on and it started right up. Feels good to have it work. Now to tune it. All the advice is appreciated.
