I have been looking at used tractor prices. AC 190XTs look like a lot of tractor at a reasonable price. Kinda makes me wonder. It seems like I remember hearing that they were kind of hard to keep running. But has been so long ago that I could be wrong. Does anyone know if the XTs are a problem? Thanks all!

I dont recall many engine issues, however in my experience the transmission was the weak point on this model,, check to see if she jumps out of any of the gears, which will be an indicator the trans needs work ( 2nd usually, I think). Other wise a good machine in my opinion.

if I recall correctly they had problems with the final drive when the xt was introduced due to the extra torque generated by the turbo and the propensity of farmers to boost the hp from the factory from 93 hp to more than 120 hp. I believe the final was beefed up in subsequent production runs. Subsequently the 190xt became a pullersfavorite as it could be stripped down to 7000lb class yet boosted to the low 130's.
