im thinking that your coil is going bad
160 tractr won't restart hot
I have a john deere 160 tractor with 12.5hp kawasaki engine.
it starts & runs fine, but after it is hot (normal running temp) it will not restart if shut off.
it will crank like crazy but it does not have spark. any thoughts?
also, sometimes it will stutter going uphill, like the belt or a transmission gear is slipping.
does anyone have the belt adjustment instructions?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

You arent using the choke and flooding it are you? My 165 will flood if you forget and use the choke when the engine is warm. I can usually get it going but there are no insects of any kind by the time all the smoke clears.
