I picked up a used 44GT to replace my rusted out 44C.....the only difference I see is the drive pulley. On the GT it's 5 1/8" across and the 44C is 4 5/8". I wanted to clean it up before trying to put it on and was wondering if my drive belt will still work without putting it in a bind? Or, will I need to swap the pulleys?

Thanks

The diameter of the pulleys wont hurt anything. It is the width of the belt groove that has to be the same. The smaller pulley will just speed up the blades a little bit. You will most likely need use the mule drive and hanger that was original to the gt deck to get it to lift and adjust properly.

44GT deck works fine with original 44C hardware. Only change i made was dropping in the smaller 44C drive pulley [which probably wasn't necessary] but, the faster blade speed sounded good.
