I got an opportunity to get a Buhler Farmking 50" 3pt blower with the hyd chute options for 1200.00. It is abt 5yrs old, what do you all think... Good deal or bad. Supposed to be in good shape.

IF its in nice shape sounds like a decent price. BUT it would have to be nice.
Well,

I guaranteed no snow here next winter as I bought the blower yesterday. It is in very good shape... even the scraper bar at the bottom lip is not beat up. The auger has a small bang in it but runs true and the impeller looks to have minimal wear. All parts turn nice and free, and it even has a real Deere hyd cylinder to rotate the chute (WOW I could have bought the same thing from Peavey Mart for $69.00 but it is a Deere) The paint is a bit spotty as it sat outside and the guy lives by a lake. I do have to say it is built like a tank and it weighs close to 500lbs. All in all I am happy with the decision and don't feel $1200.00 was unreasonable given PTO blowers are almost impossible to find around here. Tried to negotiate him down but he had a speech well planned for the occasion and pretty much explained how to take a long walk off a short pier.. Oh well now it's back to blowing snow and no more having to clean rocks off the lawn in the spring that got pushed there with the blade. One winter of rear blade/loader was enough even though it worked OK I sure missed my X500 and Berco blower.. I'll try to find time for pics between trying to get yard work done and the rain as I need to get stuff cleaned up so Deere can take the 2320 for a week or so to figure out my Hydraulic issues.

now time to dig out the googles and winter clothing for use of said blower. BTW. that sounds like a heck of a deal. He knew it was and wasn't willing to flex on price. I don't blame him.

That is the best news looking forward to the upcoming winter yet! :sidelaugh
Hi

Sounds like a nice piece of equipment. I may look for one myself in the next year or 2. At 500lbs it must be a HD unit and well worth the 1200.

Cheers

Ya,
It's beefy Brian, Buhler makes some pretty fine hardware and it's nice that the factory is just a few hrs away. Hopefully I won't have to do a post on how well it works any too soon, although we are still waiting patiently for summer to come... Humm maybe summer has been here already (I seem to remember 2 days where the temp was 30+)

Our weather has been cool and wet for the most part. Today it got up to 23C which is about as warm as it has been for the last month. Hopefully you are not in an area of the prairies that is suffering for lack of rain. I hear some places in Alberta are pretty parched.

Cheers

Ya its bad out here in places, some have plowed thier crops under already.. Not going to be a good time the next year around here. We are better around here except the crops are not getting enough heat and alot of stuff is stunted.
