I am thinking about getting a 6 way blade for my '64 110. I was wodering if someone had some pics of how it mounts to the tractor. Specifically how the lift arm is mounted to the underside of the tractor. Thanks.

The lift arm goes from the rocker shaft through a small square hole on the right front of the tractor. I am not sure if these pictures will help but this is what I had on my computer. You can see the lift rod sticking out through a hole in the mount plate for the 20 compressor. The frame hole is right behind it. The second picture hole is very hard to see but one half of the frame hole is just visible if you look hard. If you double click the pictures get bigger. Roger

No that is not it. If you go to www.jdparts.com you can see what it looks like. It is roughly 24 inches long with an adjustable clevis on one end and a welded on slotted clevis on the other. If I remember correctly the rod is 3/8 inch in diameter. I will look and see if I have a photo. Roger

Also while I am thinking of it do not pay extra for the 6 way blade. You can not use the tilt feature on it as it causes the tractor to corkscrew itself into the ground. I believe that is why JD quite making them early in RF history. I had one years ago and it just made the blade heavier. Roger

Buy 2 clevises and a 24" piece of 3/8" rod. Cut the rod to the correct length and then tap the ends of the rods so you can thread the clevises on. Last time I looked you could get the rod from JD but it was expensive. You can look the rod up at www.jdparts.com. Our local Ace and True Value sell both 3/8 rod, clevises, hitch pins, and jam nuts and the clips. If you do not have the ability to tap the rod bring the parts to a welding shop and have them do it. That kind of shop would also have 3/8 inch rod. You need to have one jam nut so the rod doesn't turn. Roger
