This site is a blessing to me. I finally got around to looking at the 10247 about the surge issue. Pulled the sticker off the side of the carb, took out the jet, cleaned it out with a piece of wire, reinstalled it, put the sticker back on, started it, and the surge was history. Awesome! :bannana:

Works **** near every time.I have had about 12 duras with this issue, did same thing surge disappeared everytime, that jet is very, very sensitive to dirt and debris.:congrats:
Tiny little hole in that jet, ain't it? Yep, one speck of dirt throws a monkey wrench in the gear works!
Yeah, I cut a little piece of wire off a brass detailing brush to clean it. If I was 5 years older, I wouldn't have been able to see it, it was so fine. Thankfully, I have bifocals.
That has worked for me every time on the Duraforce.

Put an exterior in-line fuel filter on the DF. It will save you from having to do this too often. I use the see through briggs paper filters (via Home Depot).

99% sure the Briggs Fuel Filter you want is # 1065.

That and a 90 Deg. Briggs or Stens Shut-Off right at the tank and your good to go.

Definitely need the shut off valve. I leave it with gas in the tank. Come back in a week or so, it's empty!
