Trying to figure out what my options are for repowering a WH B-80. I took the 8HP Kohler K181S apart and found that it has catastrophic damage to most of it's components (crank, blcok/sleeve, piston). So I'm looking to repower the rig with an affordable option. I'd appreciate any insight or feedback as to where and what to look out for.

About the besty way to go is look for a good used 8 hp kohler with out the starter gen, I have one but we are so far apart the shipping would eat you alive

Depending on what you'd be willing to sell the engine for, I'd be willing to eat the shipping costs. I'm having ZERO luck finding anything around here. Aside from the $400 units on ebay.

Edit: What do you mean minus the starter and gen? I assume you mean just swap what I currently have on mine?

you need one with electric start not a start.gen setup. Id a starter, generator setup that takes the place you your starter
