Pick this up for $2 at a auction. Most of the rust is just surface rust. Not sure it if is owner built or not. Not sure what I am going to do with it since it is last behind 5 other projects. Any one know what the engine is? There is no markings on the machine or the engine.

It looks like a Garden Spot made by Mellinger Manufacturing Co. There is a 1951 ad in Dave Baas's book. The standard model included the cultivator. Attachments were 30"x36" utility cart, 30" sickle bar, 10 gallon sprayer, air compressor and 30" front blade. There is a picture of one here

That would make sense since I am less then 5 miles from Willow Street were it was made. I piece of local history! I am going keep and restore it now. May get move up the project list a little.
