Hey all, Steve here from Virginia. Just bought a rundown old farm-ette to live my dream of having some horses and running machines :)

Previous owner conveyed me a JD 870 with a 440loader (700 hours), and all kinds of goodies for the 3pt/PTO. Hole Shooter, Broadcaster spreader, 45 reversible plow, finishing mower, aerator, and ballast box.

I've got the tractor running and have cleared several acres of old derelict fencing, brush, and debris, and even put up about 1000 ft of Kentucky horse fence (broke a few shear pins in the auger on oak trees roots in the process!) thus far.

The property and the equipment was not well maintained so I thought I'd join up here to get some ideas and advice as needed. Who knows, I might be able to help some folks out as well!

So far the only injury I've had with the machine is when I casually unwrapped the tarp the previous owner had bungee corded around the auger which was leaned up against an old barn. Under the tarp was a bald-faced hornet nest, and let's just say they were not happy with me. I'm finding every make and model of bee/wasp on and in the property so I now use the cup holder to house a can of Wasp killer :)

:howdy: Welcome aboard Steve. Come for the info and help, stay for the camaraderie. Two things come to mind; sounds like a nice little spread and lots to do which should turn out to be enjoyable. And the second thing, Ouch. :MTF_wel2:
