While I am stripping my 816 for repaint I am gathering a few fix up parts.

I need two clutch rollers and pins and noticed tonight that Cogan Valley Machine now offers a 1 piece roller/pin assembly. They advertise that Gravely now makes 1 piece roller/pins.

Do you think the 1 piece roller/pins will wear out the clutch retainer/adjuster plate? Is this a practical concern over 600 hours or only a technical difference?

Does that mean that the boys are back in business? I've been hoping that they straighten themselves out and get back to serving their customers. I'm in need of the aftermarket rollers, clutch plates, and lift rods that they sell.

The early versions of the rollers were a two piece assembly. Later Gravely changed to a one piece roller. I cannot comment on the wear factor as I have no valid field data.

The next time I need rollers I will probably just buy them from Gravely. I could make them but the hardening process makes it not worth my time. In other words, there is more to making them than just chucking up a piece of cold rolled on the lathe.
