Got what appears to be a leaky right side cover plate and/or axle case on my 445's 2WS transaxle. Reading through the parts diagrams here: Section 50 - Drive Train Parts, I do not see mention of or listings for gaskets for the transaxle case and side/rear covers or the axle cases. Are they...

I'm interested to find out if anyone has done any clever mods to make it easy to fill a K46/T40 transaxle without having to take it off the lawn tractor. I've searched around and found one mod where someone drilled a hole below the vent cap. I found another where it looked like someone JB welded...

So my mower is running great engine wise. Good belts. No issue with belt engagement. But, I can go Rev very slowly, and going FWD will start to go too quick on pressing the pedal. Then it'll jolt a bit when I let up and won't re-engage going FWD until I press reverse. Maybe the external linkage...

I just put my JD 400 transaxle back together after service, I just took off the right side plate put Hylomar and all new o-rings/bushings, now it goes in reverse when I am not pushing the forward or reverse pedal and seems to be slower than it was. Any ideas what I messed up? Thanks!

Hello everyone, I’m brand new to the Forum. Today, I changed the transaxle fluid in my grandmother’s 2021 X730. I added the 8qts (actually 8.1qts ) that the manual says to add but the level is WAY up on the dipstick. At least an inch above the dashed area of the dipstick. Did I mess up by adding...

Hi all, I have a Craftsman lawn tractor model 917.250842, purchased new in 2015. Recently found out the transaxle seals had been leaking (wasn't paying attention). I have replaced both seals, but have no idea how much fluid was lost. Manual and online state the transaxle, which appears to have a...

Got a 13.5hp 30 inch craftsman variator 536.270270 that the transaxle case is busted at the opening for the left side axle. I cant for the life of me locate the transaxle online. I have located part numbers but am curious if there is a transaxle that will swap into this tractor or I'm just out...

I have an AWS X304 lawn tractor with a bad Transaxle. I want to replace it myself. The Non-AWS R&R looks pretty straight forward. However, the AWS has more complexity to it. I looked on line and could not find any video or pictured instructions other than the JD repair manual. It seems a...

so, I picked up this machine with the fabricated deck for $100. Finally got it running, gutted the electronic fuel thing, new tires, carb, seat and various other stuff. Runs good. I noticed a filter on the transaxle. Not sure how to EASILY drain and fill yet, but here's my question. What type of...

In addition to my post of October 2021 - 1996 Murray the issue of the mower moving slow still remains. I decided to cut an opening in the mower frame under the battery. This will enable me easy access to the trans reservoir cap. I completed this today. Upon opening the cap I saw what appears to...

Hello. I hope y’all are doing well. Seems that the lever for bypassing the K51a transmission to push it by hand and such cracked off earlier today. I attached a picture. I have having a real hard time finding a replacement part or even a part number for that plastic piece that holds the rod and...

TL;DR - Looking for gears/rebuild for Peerless 600 series transaxle. Hello all! I am working on what I believe is 1979 Murray 11 hp 36 inch deck lawn tractor model 0-3667. So far I have got the old Briggs and Stratton 11 hp engine running nice and strong, rebuilt the steering, replaced the...

  14. Bolens Forum
Hi, I have been in the process of restoring a 1968 bolens 1050. I still use it for day to day chores around my property. Recently however, I've noticed that it likes to get stuck in gear under load. For example, I was pulling a scrap tractor that had all flat tires. The tractor got snagged on a...

I have a JD LT155 I purchased very used! I was hearing a loud grinding coming from underneath and eventually the belt fell off. I noticed the transmission fan extremely bent and rubbing on the belt (which was also loose) throwing it off. Replaced the fan and the belt but now when I engage the...
  16. MTD
Hey everyone! I have a MTD F-N-R transmission from a Troy-Bilt Bronco (Model 13aj609g766) with the vari-drive ‘go pedal’ setup (not shift on the go, but that doesn’t make a difference, trans is the same). It was out to the trash and I saved it a while ago. Made various posts here about valves...

Hi, I'm looking to find out if there is any other Transaxle models I can use for my lawn tractor. I have a Sears Craftsman LT 1136 lawn tractor model number 502.255291, it's a five speed, bought around 1979, and during that time it was made by MTD. The manual advises the Transaxle # 794247...

Hi. I've got an early 90's GT6000, 917.255980, 6 speed transaxle (well, 3 low and 3 high, plus reverse). The transaxle is leaking oil, appearing at the base at the center of the transaxle, and I assume it is the gasket where the two halves come together. The gasket is part number 121878X. Does...

After attempting to get my Craftsman tractor (model no. 917.270920) ready for the season - including replacing a flat rear tire, it started but does not move. The tire replacement took a bit of effort. I first thought that maybe the drive belt had dry rotted or had slackened and after replacing...
