History
Bought new from Davarn Equipment Sales, Pewamo, Michigan in the winter of 1960 by Harold cook, Pewamo, MI. Farmed the 150 acre Cook farm along side a Ford 601 Diesel. Over hauled with a D17 kit in the 1970's and now requires 2 6volt batteries to start in the winter. Grandpa bought it in the spring of '81 for $1000. It came with a #3 Sickel mower, a set of tire chains, and a heat houser. Grandpa added a #17 loader that had a 42" dirt bucket and a 6ft scraper blade. The blade had skid shoes and was real nice for cleaning up brush after cutting wood. The sickel mower was around until 95 when it was junked. The heat houser was used quite a bit in the 80's and 90's, then sat in the barn. We used it one more time in 2004 or 2005 and then junked it because the frame was wore out and there were too many mouse holes in the canvas to patch. The chains where only used one year and sold.
The loader boom was finally broke beond repair in 1999 and the blade was removed, the bucket and arms where scraped. We got another boom in 2002 and that was on untill 2006 when it was removed. It was sold at an auction in spring 2010. Grandpa passed away in October 2010 after loosing the battle ith lung cancer. He left me the tractor, his beloved 89 Chevy 1500, and more tools than I care to mention. I madde the heat houser you see now in fall 2009 after freezing one cold morning driving 1 mile in 5* weather. I am working on restoring this tractor.
