  1. How do you fuel your mid-hood filler cap tractor?

    John Deere SCUT
I have a 2010 2305. Love it, but hate adding fuel due to the mid-hood location of the filler cap. Most of the time I have the arms for the 200CX loader on which makes getting at the filler cap even harder. Holding a can and pouring into a funnel? Not easy. I've tried a fuel transfer hand...
  2. Back after 4 years, & goodbye 455...

    John Deere Forum
Yup, he's been in touch. So have 3 other people within 24 hours. To be honest, I thought it wouldn't sell fast because it's a rather specialty item but there's a lot of interest.
  3. Back after 4 years, & goodbye 455...

    John Deere Forum
Well here it is a year and a half later and - surprise - I still own the 455 as well as the 2305. Just too nice mowing with the 455 not to mention hauling the garbage/recycling up the 600' driveway with the forks on the 3 point hitch. I never even tried mowing with the 2305 as it has a nice...
  4. 2305 sounds like it's struggling?

    John Deere SCUT
I just bought the 2305, so the first thing I did was take it to Deere and have them go through it for any issues and of course, change all the fluids. I'll see what I can do about getting a video.
  5. 2305 sounds like it's struggling?

    John Deere SCUT
Maybe it's not abnormal, but my 2305 sounds like it's struggling when I accelerate past a certain point. It's got a full Curtis cab, but I don't think that's particularly enhancing the sound. I mean that I set the throttle and drive, and it make a normal amount of noise. Then I'll lean into...
  6. What 3PH rack and forks do you like?

    John Deere SCUT
I'm looking more for a rack with a class 1 receiver as opposed to something that I can carry wood with. I'll use the CS200 bucket for that.
  7. Caption This! 2-19-19

    Humor and Jokes
I live in snow country. You'd be surprised how many people will try to rock it out when they are belly up or worse. The caption just seemed obvious.

    "Try rocking it."
  9. What 3PH rack and forks do you like?

    John Deere SCUT
I have a rack with removable forks and a Class 1 receiver for the 3PH on my 455 AWS and I love the versatility so I never take it off. I'm selling the 455 and will sell the rack and parts and suitcase weights since my new 2305 has a weight box. I have forks for the CX200 loader rack but that's...
  10. Back after 4 years, & goodbye 455...

    John Deere Forum
Well I'm back after a quick trip across the country (phew!), and while I'd love to go pick up my 2305, the seller has room for it and I don't right now. And while I'd like to keep the 455, that would have a very low WAF (Wife Approval Factor) since her car is out in the cold and not in the garage.

  13. Moving up from a 455 AWS to a 2305.

    John Deere SCUT
Just saying hi. I currently have had a 1999 455 AWS with a 60" deck, 47" snowblower, 3 point hitch and Buford bucket, but am now moving up to a 2010 2305 with 400 hrs with a 60" mower, 47" blower, CS200 bucket, front rack with forks, JD 52" broom, Frontier RT 1150 rototiller, big york rake...
  14. Back after 4 years, & goodbye 455...

    John Deere Forum
Thanks! Good to be back. I got invaluable information about my 455 when I first joined and am looking forward to getting great help, tips, and advice for my 2305 going forward, and to adding as much value for others as I can.
  15. Back after 4 years, & goodbye 455...

    John Deere Forum
Hello old friends. I haven't been on here in something like 4 years, mostly due to being busy at work and home and other life events. But I had to come back to announce a change in tractors I thought I would never make (and hope I don't regret). I still have my '99 455 All Wheel Steer with a...

Mine is on a 455. Love it. Lots of uses.
  17. What did you do to or on your John Deere today?

    John Deere Forum
This is what I used the 455 for today - moving the boat to get it ready for summer! Sent from the MTF Free App
  18. 455 Diesel hard start

    John Deere Forum
I changed the battery because it was old and acting it. I don't remember the temp, but it was cold and the cranking ability wasn't happening. I don't fool around with batteries - at the first sign of fatigue I buy a new one. Sent from the MTF Free App

    John Deere Forum
I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but you are waiting until the glow plug indicator lamp on the dash goes out before you try to start it, right? I also agree that battery power could be the cause, although I had to replace the battery this year in my 455 and, even when the old battery...
  20. Another shear bolt thread

    John Deere Forum
Maybe it's just me, but I'm at a loss as to why you wouldn't just go buy the OEM shear bolts from the dealer? Every year I make sure that I've got at least 3 or 4 shear bolts for my 47" blower on hand, and if I go through them I get more. It's cheap insurance. My last tractor/blower combo...
