Next follow-up appointment is this Thursday. If I need to read REALLY fine print, I have to grab my glasses, but for everyday vision, my sight is better without them. Can't wait for time to pass to be done with all the drops. I don't know how I'll know when both eyes have completely settled...

That's great! They've come a long way in cataract removal in recent years. I didn't have to remove clothes, shoes, rings or even my watch for the surgery! Now that it's been over a dozen hours since the procedure, I'm seeing more improvement!
  4. Today I had my first cataract removed.

Today was the second surgery. My appointment was at 7:30 AM and with the rule of NO liquids 4 hours before surgery, I got up about 2AM to give myself enough time to get caffeined up! That gave me 2 1/2 hours sleep last night. **** these addictions!!! I had such interesting views during the...

I wouldn't dare get a nose ring. My wife would, no doubt, lead me around by it!

Many things about the Cub Cadets, I did like. What I was pointing out were reasons to consider the Deere over the Cub. These are my opinions. Yes, I do enjoy a good argument and I don't fault you for calling attention to that. I spent many hours on this forum while owning two and three Cubs.

On the smaller tractors, ie the LX178 with 38" deck, the blades were so much heavier than those on the CCGT2550 and I don't recall engines on the Cubs rivaling the Kawasakis on the Deeres.

I use ONLY KEVLAR belts on EVERYTHING!

I like and concur with your thinkin'! I was into Cub Cadets for a few years with my 107, 2146 w/38" deck (bought new) and a GT2550 (bought after a year of use with a torn up engine which I replaced). I too, have gone to Kawasaki BECAUSE they're water cooled. I also went to John Deere for...

My mother had that clouding back in the '80's. She went to a place that was ahead of it's time and got the laser treatment..........quick & easy!

I would say, put any fears away and get it done! The cataract only gets larger and will be more and more difficult to pull through a very small hole. I have another follow-up check-up next Tuesday. Really looking forward to getting the other eye done!

He didn't say which terminal he used on the solenoid.
  13. no crank ....what now?

    John Deere Forum
So the solenoid has power, but NOT from the switch. Bad switch or Solenoid.......most likely, the sollenoid.
  14. no crank ....what now?

As I reread this original post, bad switch jumps right out at me!
  15. 425AWS Struggles to start mid PTO on 54" deck

    John Deere Forum
I think you have the answer when you said " I have tried without the deck and it starts the PTO with very little engine drain". Disconnect the deck and recheck spindles and EVERYTHING that powers the blades....idlers included.

Sight is still improving. Went the full day w/out glasses. yes, even on the computer. The 31st is my next follow-up. Hopefully, I'll get an appointment for the other eye! I'm particularly excited to look through the doc's lenses and see what my vision is both far & near without any...

Bearings for automotive purposes have been notoriously inexpensive in the past., but this one has the John Deere label on it. At any rate, I'd replace. Good luck!

The above reply I wrote yesterday afternoon but apparently failed to post until this morning! Sorry. This morning, it's a little better yet. The dilation is diminishing but not quite all the way yet.

Today, I had my first follow-up with the surgeon appointment. This appointment was 24 hours after the surgery. I have slight swelling (normal) with an eye pressure of 25 (they do nothing unless it's greater than 30). The pupil is still dilated some (which is normal) but should subside by...
