Re: Carlisle Versa Turf

This would be a major concern for me. Past experience taught me well that backing in snow or loose dirt, AND up hill with AG style tires was a ticket to pain. Too old now to be digging tractors out...

Re: Homemade plow wings for my homemade blade

Re: Carlisle Versa Turf

I ran my 580 with HDAPs in mud, snow, up hills on wet grass, etc. Never slipped and almost never used the diff lock. This year I have the new X738 with HDAPs all around, bigger blade, and better...

Re: Original paint color

They'll ship to your house, or you can get the same paint from Amazon.

Re: Original paint color

A lot of people don't know that HD has a very good selection of paint that actually matches 99% of the time. I use it, and it's pretty good stuff.

Re: Homemade plow wings for my homemade blade

You're doing some nice work, so I hate to rain on the parade. Just make sure you can take those wings off when you find out that tractor won't push full loads any distance worth talking about. That's...

Re: electric lift on my x580

Nothing electric lifting these attachments. It's all tractor driven using the on board hydraulics. Check with your dealer they'll know.

Re: electric lift on my x580

Why do you need the electric lift kit???? I owned a 580 and it has hydraulics for lifting blades, etc. using the quick hitch up front, and full hydraulics for the integral power sleeve hitch in the...

Re: Snow? Get any and how much

Tuesday?? I'll be out spreading my last application of winter Milorganite today. Yesterday I used my slit aerator and spread winter seed after sweeping the leaves (again). I already have the front...

Re: Papac chipper questions

That corn chopper won't chip 3-6" branches, logs, etc. or anything close to it. Buy a good tow behind or 3pt chipper and be done with it.

Re: x300 not starting...video

That's correct Sherlock. Why does that matter when you're pulling it out to attempt a repair? Maybe to destroy some other electrical component, start a fire, hurt yourself? At least disconnect the...

Re: x300 not starting...video

I agree to this. 1/2 hour of work, 2 beers, and a can of WD40. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before you do ANYTHING.:tango_face_wink:

Re: Does Fuel Stabilizer Prevent Ethanol Damage? Let's find out!

I wouldn't mind "corn gas" if it weren't for the fact that it eventually damages everything it's put into. I have over a dozen small engines on one thing or another around here, and not one of them...

Re: x300 not starting...video

The solenoid function is built into the starter, hence my statement. These starters are similar to the old Dodge high speed starters where centrifugal force moved the pinion forward to engage with...

Re: X595 Snowthrower Shaft

The shaft is splined. You found a shop that could add hardened steel splined shaft to the driveshaft?

OP,
Buy the shaft for the hitch, but first measure the compressed length and then the...

Re: Homemade plow wings for my homemade blade

I have never had a problem using my garden tractor(s) for plowing snow, and that goes back to my Sears GT18 that I had for over 35 years. The fact of the matter is that a blade not matched to the...

Re: Deere D110 - piston moves but flywheel stuck

The flywheel would not seize as the flywheel is attached to the crankshaft using one nut and a key. The only possibility for the flywheel to lock up is for one of the flywheel magnets to dislodge and...

Re: X590 or X730?

Re: X590 or X730?

OP,

I owned an X580 last year, bought brand new and fully rigged with front blade, deck, and powered integral sleeve hitch. I traded the 580 in to the dealer, recovered all of my costs, converted...

Re: JD 332 Radiator Recored

Only in NY.

In most parts of the real world the radiator is pressure tested, then cleaned, then pressure tested again. If leaks are found they are repaired IF possible. If multiple leaks are found...
