Re: 1025 front PTO drive shaft

Front PTO shafts, with carrier bearing/bracket are pretty common around here on Craig's List. I wouldn't chop up that 1025r shaft. You shouldn't have any trouble at all selling it on Craig's List...

Re: John Deere Curtis cab restoration

I utilized them on my 1-Series. Just completing the second season. One did leak when I re-installed the cab/heater last fall. The issue was the O-ring. I purchased a bag of 100 from Amazon. I...

Re: 1-Series/1025R Updates?

There was issues with the single seat swivel mechanism on the earlier models. They did develop a "fix" for it, but in my opinion, the design of it is still lacking. Others prefer the double seat as...

Re: PTO Backup Generator

I was in the radio communications business for 35 years and quite a number of our tower sites had automatic backup generators. More often than not, they didn't start for one reason or another: dead...

Re: 455 cranks and cranks and ....then starts

You can download the Technical Manual here (https://www.mytractorforum.com/334-john-deere/142324-john-deere-425-445-455-technical-manual.html). It provides a pretty good flow chart for testing the...

Re: 455 cranks and cranks and ....then starts

It's on the left side of the engine and has a rubber bellows over the linkage. With the hood open, turn the ignition on/off and you'll see it move. Normally, make they a pretty good clunk when you...

Re: 425 AWS Rim question

I have a pair mounted up with nearly new 6-ply (not the OEM 2-ply) Carlisle Turf tires for $295. The shipping would likely make it not cost effective.

The PN of the rim is AM113145. As most...

Re: The worst of Craig's list

I usually look for a PWC (jet ski) as a winter project each summer. Usually I find one or two and often one gets scrapped for parts. With anything, shine sells. So if I'm going to flip it, it has...

Re: New Tektite Cab Installed...

The issue with the Mauser cab and the backhoe, besides not being able to operate it with the cab in place, is the front cab mounts were obstructed by the backhoe supplemental frame with the 2017 and...

Re: Quick Hitch setup for 1025R & Blower

The front PTO sensor is an RIO safety defeat component. It senses rotation of the front PTO shaft and inhibits the RIO circuit from shutting down the engine when the reverse pedal is depressed.

Re: Quick Hitch setup for 1025R & Blower

I've attached the installation manuals. Hopefully, these will provide some clarity.

As far as utilizing your existing blower, often the up-stop is different, the blower driveshaft may not be the...

Re: 1025r with Mauser Cab blowing 12" of wet snow!

The Mauser is a very nice cab. I especially like the overhead heater. However, being able to remove the cab in the summer is a must for me. The Cozy is a fair amount simpler in that regard. ...

Re: 455 overcharging

The yellow wire is not a "sensing" wire. It is the charging output of the rectifier-regulator module. The rectifier-regulator module does not "sense" any external voltage level. The output...

Re: 455 overcharging

It is not uncommon to have a tenth or two voltage drop across the ground cable. With your 15.0+ charging voltage, I would expect to see a voltage reading of nearly a volt between the black wire...

Re: 455 overcharging

Before you replace the rectifier/regulator module, check it's ground connection. If the module has a poor ground connection, there will be a voltage drop across it. This voltage drop will,...

Re: John Deere 425 acting strangely

From your symptom of it only turning over two revolutions and then stopping, we are speculating the flywheel nubs passed under the respective cylinder's pulser coil much before the cylinder reaches...

Re: John Deere 425 acting strangely

I'm not familiar with the Kawasaki engine, but if the pulser coils are exposed (not beneath the flywheel) you can make what I call a "seat of the pance" timing check.

There will be a nub for each...

Re: 455 overcharging

The 455s had two different alternators. The early models were equipped with a 40 amp alternator, which have internal rectifiers and regulator. The later models had a 20 amp alternator, which had...

Re: Bad news - Good news.

My 1025Rs did not come with the air restriction indicator, either. However, the 1026R (nearly identical predecessor) did. The 1025Rs air cleaner had the threaded port for the air restriction...

Re: Bad news - Good news.

I'd suggest you cure the problem, rather then the symptom. If you believe the restriction indicator is providing a false indication, check it and replace it if necessary. They're relatively cheap....
