Re: 430 front hitch

There is a thread on here that I can't find. It explains a front hitch I did that will fit a G series. The design can easily be adapted to fit a 400, 800, or earlier 8000. You need a sleeve hitch...

Re: Question about G-series footrest lengths

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. All the added length is in the frame ahead of the footrests.

Re: Question about G-series footrest lengths

Thanks. The slots are probably an easy mod. Are the lengths the same between a short frame and long frame? I'm thinking they are but don't have access to a short frame 8000 to measure.

My tractor...

Question about G-series footrest lengths

Are the footrests on a G series the same as on a short frame 8000 series tractor?

I have a very nice G that needs new footrests. I was thinking I could cut them off a parted out 8000 series...

Re: Commercial 12 - tire chains?

Claw marks are my fear with chains. I think these might work even better than steel link chains:

Re: Is Harbor Freight stepping up it's game?

I have been looking at that, too, I want to modify it a little to act as a lift for my Gravelys. Problem is, the platform is too narrow. So, I have two ideas:

Use suitable blocks under the frame...

Re: Should I buy a Gravely 816T?

Some thoughts

Any 800-series tractor will be a rough ride. If bush hogging - even soft stuff - you can probably expect the tractor to a bone shaker to drive.

The 816T has, I believe, rack and...

Re: 16G Professional

I would do as you would on a car - replace both tires on a given axle.

These are $39 each, plus shipping.

I have removed and mounted this size tire a number of time. Not hard at all. Also,...

Re: Paid for Premium and still seeing ads

This was first posted in May, 2019. It is now September, 2019. By my count that is four or five MONTHS.

Absolutely zero change to the ad plague. They are there as strong as ever. To make matters...

Re: Difference Between a 16G and an 18G?

Ace Hardware Banner Red. Not perfect but very close. Also nice and cheap. I have used it for making several old accessories look good. Front mount brackets. Wheel wights. Even rusty footrests on one...

Re: 16G Professional

I'd hold out for the stock Gravely adapter. FAR better and FAR neater.

Re: 16G Professional

The oil filter was an option on most 16Gs. Adding one is super simple. Finding the parts - not so much. A member here had a few of them and I bought two from him. He was selling them on eBay, too. I...

Re: Advice on how to make the 8199 gravely seat more soft cushion suspension???

Sheldon,l I just last week bought that unit for my son for his birthday. He has a Kubota Kommander 122 zero turn. He is in Vermont and has ten hilly acres with some areas of pretty rough ground. He...

Re: Question about 50 inch deck

None of the decals are standard.

The tractor is most likely an 8000 series. Just a pure guess, but maybe an 8123

8 = 8000 series

12 = 12HP

3 = hydraulic lift

Re: New (to me) trailer and tie down review

Take care to keep the tails of the straps from flapping in the breeze. After a 50 mile trip the ends might be be frayed.

Re: Does an electric hydraulic G series tractor deck have a "Float" position?

Thanks Sheldon,

I'm kind of chuckling as I read your reply. I would probably do well to get a manual for this series of tractor! It is my first experience with the electric hydraulic. As you, I...

Re: Does an electric hydraulic G series tractor deck have a "Float" position?

Thanks Sheldon, I think I may remove the deck to check where things are. As I said, I am pretty sure this tractor saw a lot of snow plowing. Since the lift rod was improperly connected, there is no...

Re: Does an electric hydraulic G series tractor deck have a "Float" position?

Thanks, that's kinda what I deduced after looking at things. This was a county-owned machine put out for auction. 500 hours. Mechanically well maintained (cosmetics are a whole other story! :) ). The...

Does an electric hydraulic G series tractor deck have a "Float" position?

My new to me 16G seems to always be exerting downforce on the deck. Is this normal? Would it be correct to allow some play in the lift rod by adjusting the nuts so the rod can move when in the down...
