Never attempted the external alternator (yet) so I really can't advise. Sorry.

Hi Larry Its kccraftswoman and i need an opinion on putting a delco alternator under the hood of my tractor(like HULK)(917-255914)without disrupting the hood or side panels or taking up the pto. need to keep pto usable. The alternator is a delco 37 amp.I do have another pulley for the drive side of the engine that i can use to drive the alternator. thank you.

Hey thanks for the compliment on my GT II. I don't how much it would be to send to texas~ a lot I imagine! lol. I had a question though about the 917.255919. I looked online at Appliance Parts, Lawn Mower Parts, Heating & Cooling Parts. 365 day returns. and they offer a oil filter for the briggs engine model 442437, mine is type 1206. I can't for the life of me find a interchangeable oil filter - is there one on the HUlk II - if so - where? Thanks!

    Hi Larry,

I read about half of your BMP restoration thread yesterday before I decided to pull the trigger on the LGT145 I bought last night. You convinced me that 1) it can be done and 2) They are a tractor worth owning. I had been looking pretty much exclusively at JD for my new acre yard but I saw this deal come up and read a bunch of your thread and decided to go for it.

I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind me asking. First, how did those non-OEM motor mounts work out for you? You mention in the post that you had to drill them out, was that for the 4 mounting bolts or was it for something else? Second, did you ever run into a reasonably priced muffler for it? I look at what they want at Messicks and just about choke. I'd like to have something that looks correct, but I'm not THAT interested.

Thanks for a great thread and a ton of great information.

    Al

I didn't need to replace Hulk's seals, but I would be interested if you found some. I would probally order some to have on hand.

Hi Larry, I have a favor to ask you. I am needing a replacement axle seal for the rear end of my gt18 but can not come up with the right one. The local parts store and sears direct have both failed. Was hoping you could give me the part # for the seals you put in Hulk II's rear end. Appreciate it much. CraftMan
