    Not uncommon, when the gap in the plates gets large enough, the magnet has a hard time pulling the plates together to engage it, it also is harder to do when the engine is hot because it makes the magnet less efficient.

    Its probably not an adjustable clutch, most of those are "fixed"....as in, no possible adjustments for the plate gap...the fix is replacement. Have him check voltage at the pigtail where it plugs in, make sure there is no voltage drop. Also check for clutch and seat switch function, as the PTO power goes through those switches (for the relay).
