You're welcome Decker. That is one nice unit, and Toro was foolish to let it slip away. I could not find a good used WH 300 or 400 series in my area and went with the Deere. I'm happy with it.
The older WH's do command respect with their rock solid construction and ability to last over decades of hard work. :thThumbsU
JMC. PARTS ARE BECOMING HARDER TO FIND FOR THIS MACHINE I FOUND THAT PARTS SUCH AS COILS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PARTS CAN BE OBTAINED AT CUMMINGS FOR THE ONAN ENGINE. I HAVE 419 HOURS ON THIS ONE AND IT RUNS GOOD. OUR TORO DEALER HERE IN SPRINGFIELD MO. WENT OUT OF BUISNESS LAST YEAR HAVE TO DRIVE ABOUT 30 MILES FOR PARTS NOW. THIS IS MY THIRD WHEEL HORSE AND HAVE HAD GOOD SERVICE FROM ALL THREE. I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY YEAR AS I ONLY USE IT FOR ABOUT 30 HOURS EACH YEAR. I HAVE A MULCHING DECK ON THIS ONE AND IT DOES A GOOD JOB. THE JOHN DEERE IS A GOOD MACHINE AND IF I WAS TO BUY ANOTHER TRACTOR IT WOULD BE A JOHN DEERE AS THEY HAVE GOOD SERVICE ALMOST EVERY WHERE . THANKS FOR THE REPLY ; DECKER
You have arguably the toughest lawn and garden tractor ever made there. Toro was foolish not to keep it going and refine it. A Wheel Horse is a 30 year machine. :fing32:
yes it has a onan 20hp twin cylinder engine. had to put a new coil on it last year other than that the engine has done very well. never has used any oil. i use havoline 30 weight in the engine and havoline 10w30 in the transmission. what engine does your john deere have? do you have cruse control? i have a john deere spreader to use with mine.note my neighbors all have john deers . decker
Decker that is a beautiful tractor. Sure is sweet. Its too bad Toro couldn't have kept those models going. Parts are getting harder to find and these things are tough tractors.
