Mystery tractor

A friend and me stumbled upon this tractor. We found it sittin in the woods. Had a 531cc engine. I put an old 14hp tecumseh on it for now. Can anybody tell me what kind it is? My buddy thought it might be an old wards?

Thats a MTD 990. They braned them every name in the book. Doesn't matter it could be a good tractor.

i agree with Hydronerd, looks like an MTD 990, i have never owned one so i can't vouch for how good they are.

its a 990 and it is a jc penny version.the are great tractors.

like rusty said it's a990 a good tractor,any pics of it with motor?, if you can get it back to original, it will last forever. real good find.
