Back several years ago I spent some time on the Meramac, just outside of St. Clair. Ever hear of Yellow Dog Road? There was a big gravel bar that was referred to as the Hippie Beach. In the summer they would bring in a big semi trailer to make a stage and have live music. I think there was a lodge of some sort there years ago in the past. Lots of people from St Louis would show up.
