At a tractor show I assume everyone has a B/S key on their key ring.... Don't you?

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

The snowblower I had on one of my Suburbans (the "rotary snowplow 39" one) would stop turning when you raised it up,the belt goes slack that powers it off the engine pulley when it lifts up..

I think its designed that way..yet in the operators manual it says you can use the blower "in the raised position" to clear the top layer of really deep snow, then lower it and go back over it again, but it didn't work too well when I tried that..thought about adding a higher auger housing "drift buster" to it,the housing is only about 10" high and we get much deeper snowfalls here--but the gearbox on it blew apart before I got around to making a metal drift buster for it..

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

Yes the belt loosens up more in the raised position. When fully engaged it will operate at full, both raised and down. Being on the concrete was the problem. When lowered on the ground / grass it stayed still when disengaged.

I swear it was sunny when I started. Pool liner is in 1" blocks, so far an inch has fallen. Trying to save the BBQ Ribs.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

I'm in the A/C at work and don't have control of the thermostat. Lots of electronics so it is around 68*. I keep a jacket in the office. Heat feels good for a few, then the humidity kicks in making it feel 10* hotter..... back into the A/C.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

What happened? Got up this morning and grabbed breakfast at https://mike-and-stacys-mercantile.business.site/ Then I started the yard work around 9:00 with weed whacking, then mowed over the septic. Tree trimming and finally picking up rocks. I had to un-load the Craftsman parts off the trailer so I could use it. After a very HOT day of yard work I decided to BBQ, and started off with Texas Poppers, and Drum Sticks. After eating around 4:00 I took a nap and just got up almost 5 hours later.

Larry, same here about 1 hour south of you. We had a nice spring with a lot of mowing and now in the same boat just trying to keep the trees and bushes alive. 60% chance of rain today but won't hold my breath. Oh well there's a lot of football action this time of year. Congrats on your new house.
just realized this is kind of and old post about the Texas weather but pretty sure the comments still hold tru about our August weather. Guess what it's raining here in Georgetown, Looks like September off to a great start.

Hollowed out Jalapeno pepper, stuffed with creme cheese and wrapped in bacon. Either deep fry or BBQ.

Thanks! another close member. I visit with Brandon in Killeen every once in a while. I will be at the TEDTEA show in Temple Oct 4-6, I usually camp out in the hit-n-miss area there.
