Now that is scary looking. I saw this thing parked around the corner from me. Looks like it belongs to the State Highway Admin. and it looks brand new.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

Today was going to be an enjoyable day for yard work, lower humidity, 98 temp, overcast with a good breeze, or so I thought.

Got ready to weed whack, filled the tank, checked the string, sun block on, eye and ear protection, and the *** thing would not start. pulled the plug and it was dry. took the carb off and on 4 times blowing and cleaning it out. pumped the bulb and all I was getting was a gurgleing sound and air bubbles in the lines. the bulb is fine as it pressurized the gas tank so when I pulled the fueline gas sprayed all over the shop table. After about 3 hours of jacking with it I gave up and got a new one. I ended up using the push mower to trim with. So now it's the afternoon and I was using BOH with the canopy to mow the front yard. I noticed the deck changeing pitch when I got into the thicker stuff. I finished the front and took BOH to the shop to check the PTO adjustment, it was spot on, but the deck belt was so loose I could spin the puley without the belt moving. I guess the 50" deck takes a different belt than the 44" deck. All my belts are for 44" decks. So it looks like I'll be breaking in the new weed whacker and using RED to finish up tomorrow.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

Well I fired up the new Pouloan Pro weed wacker. the push bulb works the same as the old one (looks like air being pumped and gurgle sound). It fired up fine, so I'll break it tn tomorrow and use RED to finish the mowing. I am using the old whacker attachment as the new one only has about 5' of string. The old one is full with 20' of string, I did dump the old gas in BOH and made new gas with the correct 1-50 mix. I will try dumping the old gas from the old pouloan Pro to see if that was the issue.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

Got up at 7:30 this morning and it is already over 90 with high humidity. I think I'll put off weed whacking till next weekend. Still need to mow the back yard tho. I checked my theory about the gas mix maybe being off. I can't see a difference, may try the fresh gas anyhow.

man if I had to use that stuff to be sure it was right. I'd be broke. Between the chain saw, weed wacker, and dirt bikes!

Mix them both 40:1. You won't notice a difference and it will not hurt the machine. The only time I noticed, was going from 50:1 to 20:1 on my chainsaw, and it only required 1/16-1/8 of a turn counterclockwise on the high screw.

Re: Life in Central Texas (New adventures of larrybl)

Taking on an ambitious project today. I need to move the small crappy shed (later). It is used to store old Girl and tractor parts. All needs moved to the Tin shed. Problem, and why I am in here cooling off is, while loading stuff up I had a wasp after me. Do NOT get this kind of spray! I used 2/3 can on the one wasp and it only makes him mad! The other problem, as I was picking parts from the top shelf I heard a hissss behind me. I Puckered up and exited quickly. Going back out in a few with a hoe in case I find something.
