Black eyed peas shelling trouble

I am using this small hand crank pea sheller...I believe it is called little mr pea sheller. Some of the peas shell pretty good but a great deal start off shelling an inch or two of the pea and then the hull stops being sucked up into the little serrated green plastic rollers. You have to pull the hull out and then try again. Not sure if the peas are to blame or the sheller. Is there suppose to be a minimum gap between the rollers for the pea hull to suck up properly every time?

Re: Black eyed peas shelling trouble

It's the sheller,-- We got one like that and it does the same on peas!!!---also mashes more peas than it gets out, so it's a poor idea that went into production and un leashed onto the public!! thanks; sonny
