1-Hour DIY Raised Cedar Bed

Just put together this 4' x 8' raised bed made out of red cedar. Turned out pretty nice and only cost about $125 and took less than an hour to assemble.

I had a few friends ask for directions so I wrote it up on my Steem blog and I thought I'd share here for anyone that might be interested.

Follow the link for a materials list, assembly instructions, and lots of pictures.

Re: 1-Hour DIY Raised Cedar Bed

That looks really nice GSM. I've been gardening in raised beds for several years now and I know you will enjoy it. Is that landscape fabric in the bottom? My boxes are 5' X 10' and I lined the insides with heavy black plastic. I left the bottoms open though. Has not been a problem.

Re: 1-Hour DIY Raised Cedar Bed

Thanks. And yes, I stapled some landscape fabric in the bottom just to help keep the weeds down.

We just harvested our first group of peas. Italian green beans and tomatoes coming along nicely.
