445 For Sale - 1216 hours, 60" deck, 3ph, Steel Cam Gear in SW Michigan ($4500)

This is located around Niles, MI

This is a 445 with 1216 hours that may go slightly up.

All plastic and tail lights are in great shape. Overall, the tractor is in really good shape.

In February of this year (1192 hours), I had the starter replaced along with a full service, including Trans fluid replacement and oil/filters.

The previous owner replaced the water pump right before I bought it and verified the steel cam gear.

I've used all the hydraulic ports and they work great. This has been stored inside and covered since I got it.

I have a 60" mower to go along with it and also a 3ph installed.

The only things that I would call out are the rear tires and the seat. While they are aggressive, and great for work - they are starting to show signs of dry-rot. They still hold air and I have had no issues with them. The suspension seat is fine, but does have some cracks in it.

The ONLY reason I'm selling this is that I just picked up a 455, and can't really justify two of them. So it's up for sale!

It's a nice tractor and ready to go to work!!

* I will not ship this anywhere

* Cash only

FYI, the 60" deck has the keyed spindles, serial number 106048 and above use the newer splined spindles.

What is the serial number on the tractor?

Unfortunately, when I got the tractor the serial tag was long gone. I DO know that it's the "newer?" style due to the steering setup and info from previous owner.

I believe deck is one of the older ones. It works great, but I was an add-on to the tractor. The serial number to the deck is M060HDA050223 60-HD LAWN

MISparty,

I also have a 455 that the serial number was missing when I got it, I'm almost certain it is a 2000 model year.

One advantage of the keyed spindle (106047 and below) is that the housing was sold alone, I don't know if they are still available but at one point, they were.

The 106048 serial number and up you have to buy the spindle complete in the $350.00 range, from experience!

Thanks for the info!

One of the things I did with this (it might have been your suggestion from a while ago actually - not sure) was to run the deck without blades. There was Lucki,y virtually no noise. The blades could use a sharpening, or replacement, but they still work great for my lawn.

MISparty,

Not my suggestion but I see where it would be beneficial to discovering any spindle noise, chatter, etc.

I know some maintenance techs in manufacturing will place a metal rod, large screwdriver on a spindle housing to detect any vibration. I don't know how well it would work on a suspended deck, worth a try.

Bearings are cheap if you want to replace them, grease seals are not though.

Sharpen and balance the blades would be a plus.
