For Sale: 1981 Sears Craftsman FF/18, 48" Rototiller, & Cultivator (Central OH)

Selling my Dad's 1981 Sears Craftsman FF/18 garden tractor, 48" rototiller, and cultivator. Asking price is $1,300.

A little history first. My grandpa bought this tractor and its attachments new in 1981 and used them for his garden. When he passed away in 1997, my grandma gave the tractor to my Dad. He used the tractor and rototiller until he passed away in 2016. Now Mom wants to sell the FF/18.

We used this tractor and rototiller about two weeks ago to till our garden. The rototiller did a great job and the tractor ran smoothly for the most part but died on me three times from lack of fuel. A few days before tilling, we cleaned out the carb, fuel lines, took the fuel pump apart (found that Dad had already rebuilt it), checked the fuel filters, and drained the fuel tank (got some good chunks of junk out). There was still some dirt on the screen in the tank though, so we blew that off with a small hose. I'm pretty sure that there's still some grit in the tank that will need flushed out more thoroughly to get it to run perfect.

Also, the rototiller to me seems like it won't quite lift as high as it should because if I drive the tractor over uneven ground, the tines on the tiller will drag on the grass. The lift lever also seems a little floppy, at least compared with our John Deere. It could just be my unfamiliarity with the machine, but something seems not quite up to snuff there.

Dad and Grandpa both took care of the tractor while they owned it. In 2014 Dad purchased and installed all new tines on the rototiller for just under $200, so the tines have been used for 4 seasons. In 2016 Dad bought a new battery, replaced the spark plugs, installed a new fuel line, and installed a new fuel filter. Somewhere in there Dad also rebuilt the fuel pump. Last year, we replaced the gasket in the carb.

Rear PTO works fine. The tractor has a front PTO kit which I've never used. Tires seem good. The tractor has 738 hours on it and has the 18hp Briggs & Stratton. I have all the manuals and original purchase receipts. Tractor still seems like a beast!

I'm attaching some pics for you guys to check out. If you have any questions or are interested, just message me. Thanks for looking!

Thought about our price a little and I think we're a little high since we're not selling the cart. The price of the FF/18, cultivator, and rototiller is $1,150. Thanks!
