Grease gun recommendation for light use

I know this has been discussed many times here and found a referral to this thread:

https://www.mytractorforum.com/12-joh...mendation.html

But the information is a bit out of date. Tractor Supply no longer carries the recommended one listed from there for example.

I have a riding mower and just a few other things so I don't need professional level or battery powered or 5 gal bucket air feed which is what some of the threads seem to go towards. I realize that for many on this list that may be appropriate but for me it isn't.

I have a small cartridge gun that I have had for years (about 30) but I have to pull the piston back when I am not using it or the grease oozes past the spring plate gradually and I end up with most of the grease behind the plate where it isn't usable. And the cartridges are hard to get out when they are empty. Just had to pry the tube off the inside of the gun from each end before I could get it out. Is this normal? Think the cartridge might have been some sort of cardboard tube or had paper on the outside that stuck to the inside of the gun.

Really tired of messing with it. Just want a simple gun that works at least reasonably well. Specific recommendations?

Get the pistol grip type and use plastic cartridges.
I find pistol grips are much easier to use than the lever style.
I have a flex hose on a pistol grip and it works for most applications.

About as good as any I have used.We use a lot of grease on the farm and these along with Mystic grease both from Farm&Fleet work well.
