Oil question.(s)....

Mods...please move where appropriate.
Can regular dino oil be used with full synthetic? Can a full synthetic oil filter be used on both, dino and syn?

IF they were incompatible, you'd hear 1000's of horror stories about it with all the "destroyed" engines.

Re: Oil question.(s)....

They sell "Semi-Synthetic" blend oils that are just regular oil laced with some synthetic-- ,and from what I've been told and read online, any oil with a "MIL" spec rating on the bottle means "Military Approved".and one of the stipulations is it is able to be compatible with "any" other engine oil...

I've also read that adding a quart of full synthetic to regular oil will add almost as much as added lubrication and protection as a full crankcase of synthetic...not sure how true it is,but for someone afraid to go "full synthetic" on an older engine with high miles it might be the way to go,or use Semi-Synthetic oil...
